Helen Holmes (1892-1950) was an American silent film actress.

She worked as a model and on stage before turning her attention to Hollywood. She became a star in 1914 with the serial "The Hazards of Helen" and with her director/husband/partner J.P. McGowan, she began churning out short films at an amazing pace.

As her screen career began to wane, she began a business with her second husband to train animals for movie appearances. She spent the last years of her life running an antique store, and she died in 1950 of heart failure. She was only 58.
