Blanche Sweet (1896-1986) was an American stage and film actress who appeared in over 120 films, all except three being silent films. One of Hollywood's earliest starlets, Sweet worked through the 1930's, before heading off to Broadway and Vaudeville. She eventually was found working as a clerk in a New York department store in the 1950's. She returned for a uncredited cameo in Danny Kaye's "The Five Pennies." Sweet died in 1986 at 90 years of age.
